The first time I tried yoga, my friends showed me a small sequence of poses on top of a hostel in Guadalajara, Mexico. I remember feeling so alive afterwards and decided to continue a steady practice afterwards. In two years I noticed how much it reduced my anxiety attacks and stress that I had been struggling with for years.
In 2012, I earned my RYT 200 certification from Shambhava Yoga in Kona, HI. Since then I have taught over 1,200 hours (E-RYT 200), became certified to teach Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga, and am currently pursuing Core Stength Vinyasa training from world renowned teacher Sadie Nardini. I am also working towards my RYT 500 certification in Yoga Therapeutics from the Wilmington Yoga Center!
I believe yoga is a lifetime learning of self-care, which has strong, therapeutic powers for our minds and bodies. I remind my students that every day is a new day, so every practice is a new opportunity to honor their experience each and every time they step onto their mat. Just breathe!
